A new Trump presidency will plunge the world into something between WW3 and nuclear annihilation.

Europe will have to dust off its own nukes as a serious deterrent to moscow and majorly increase its security spending and preparations, and Ukraine will have to develop its own (which it is perfectly capable of doing), with unpredictable results. If russia tries its luck outside Ukraine, there will be western troops clashing with russians directly.

China will smell weakness and go full throttle on its regional domination plans, and the US will do squat.

Expect a few assassination attempts/successes and unexplained deaths along the way, on almost every continent.

edit: I don’t even want to think about the middle east. Without the US acting as a “moderating force”, hell will probably break loose there too.

Well fuck, it looks like trump will win. We are in for a rough decade or two, and our children will quite possibly be called up to fight in a few years. Let’s hope putin is defenstrated before it gets that far, of course.

The only nukes actually owned by a European country are French, which just disregarded the winners of the election and are ruled by a center right/fascist coalition. We’re fucked.

Are you ready for Trump 2028 yet? How about Trump 2032?

Trump 2024 support showed up in my area shortly after Biden won. And he’s just self centered enough to run until he absolutely cannot anymore

I will be frankly shocked if his spawn don’t try to create a political dynasty. I don’t want them to, to be clear, but they are a clan of grifters, and this is the most successful scam he and they have ever been involved in.

Self-centered and desperate for cash. His supporters think he’s a successful businessman, and it’s true because his business is taking supporters’ money. Win or lose, he can never stop campaigning.

If Trump wins, there is plenty of evidence he’ll tamper with government agencies slowly so who knows what will happen. He’d likely try to extend the term to 5 years, or start a civil war and then claim it’s war time

Why extend the term to five years when he can have his cronies reverse the term limit amendment and then win every year like Putin does with 99% support?

    “Recession” and “Depression” you say?

    So “Repression?”

Yeah, that’s exactly how Nazis function at all. Gotta repress logic, repress morals, repress dissident thought.

    I mean…

The MAGA movement was very proud to be a psycho and sociopathic death cult during covid.

Why wouldn’t we expect them to gleefully cheer on and support even more needless pain and destruction and death?

Their primary motivator is wanting to feel justified in complaining about and hating things they don’t comprehend.

That’s already been proven, time and time again, to be more important to them than their standard of living, their aspirations, their loved ones, and their own lives.

They will make up any story, deny any facts, never take any accountability for anything.

Fucking oh well, time for CCR.

When the Biden admin had to change the definition of recession to avoid admitting were in a recession, we’re probabtin a recession.

What Is a Recession? A recession is a significant, widespread, and prolonged downturn in economic activity. A common rule of thumb is that two consecutive quarters of negative gross domestic product (GDP) growth indicate a recession. However, more complex formulas are also used to determine recessions. Current GDP data

GDP, according to the economist that invented GDP, is not a measure of economic health

That’s not the point, the point is we’re not in a recession as economists define recession (not how Joe Biden defines it).

GDP doesn’t measure how well an economy is working. It doesn’t show you wealth inequality, for example.

I’m replying to a thread about Biden arguing that GDP shouldn’t be the only indicator of economic health, but if we’re dogmatically looking at GPD, GDP is not in a classic “recession” territory.

That’s the downside of the definition of a recession, 2 consecutive quarters of declining GDP when adjusted for inflation. The problem is that it doesn’t actually account for how that production is distributed. So while.yes we aren’t exonomically in a recession, people are still feeling the squeeze because that GDP growth isn’t fairly distributed.

No. The recession that everyone expected never happened because the current administration did so well.
