Edit: and if any Democrat on the ethics committee doesn’t leak the report they should all be primaried and removed from their posts.
He’ll make a run for governor. DeSantis is term limited and his seat is up in two years.
Note that while he resigned from this current Congress, he did get reelected to the next Congress, so he’ll still be a US rep in Florida once the session starts in late January. Just kind of an extended two month vacation really.

He REALLY does not want that ethics probe released. Which means we absolutely should.
My conspiracy theory is that he wasn’t a serious contender for AG. He got the nom which allowed him to resign from Congress. This forced the ethics committee to stop investigating him because he was no longer a member.
While he was a contender for AG, the Senate pushed for the release of materials anyway. Gaetz withdrawals from consideration, making the report moot.

This is going to end up being the worst news and democrats always forget this. Trumps next pick will be worse. It’ll be somebody effective, but awful. He’ll find some MAGA nut job that’s basically hitler ideology with an actual law background and years on a bench. I was hoping dems would back Gaetz a bit because he’s so utterly stupid at least it would shield us for a while.

I have a suspicion the House is holding it over his head to keep him from swearing in for the next congressional session. He won his election this year, so he could just simply re-jiin the House even though he resigned for this term.
