Postcard stamp shortages have happened in a lot of places this year.
It’s a bit late to be sending postcards now though; I recommend volunteering to call people, text people, or talk to them in person
I’m currently in a swing state, and I really enjoy getting the postcards. It makes me feel a little less alone in the sea of red.
So, my wife did this here. When she bought the postcard postage, the machine PRINTED the stamps. They weren’t something you could run out of.
It was a printed stamp and a QR code.
You can definitely run the machine out of the paper and ink it uses. May take postal workers a bit to refill it, especially when there is a big line of people clamoring for the the prettier pre-printed stamps.

I live in a swing state where we have to name our affiliation when we register. I’ve received 5 handwritten postcards from people reminding me to vote, thanking me for voting, asking me to remind friends and family, etc. As another commenter noted it really is heartwarming the effort some are putting in.
My friend in PA got one of those postcards and it was like “your vote may not be public but if you vote is :)”.
I don’t know why they thought sending veiled threats to voters was somehow motivational, but here we are.
Got this in the mail today:
I’d like to think that kind of ad would swing a fair amount of voters blue, but I guess if they were smart, they’d be blue already.
I’ve gotten several things like this, especially in the last week or so. Same with texts. I’ve gotten dozens. Reported them all as junk and blocked them. Idk how many of the unknown calls have been get out the vote; I don’t answer unknown calls, but there has been a dramatic uptick in that number as well, including a number listed as “survey call” every 2 days for the past 3 weeks.
I already submitted my vote on 09OCT… so much for useful public record, I guess.
Living in a swing state fucking sucks around election time, leave me alone, damn. Let’s get rid of the electoral college just so we don’t get fucking hounded for 3 months every 4 years by a bunch of complete strangers who don’t know a damn thing about us. Spread the love. (Yes it would be good to get rid of the EC anyway, but I want it purged for purely selfish reasons)
I recieve 15+ phone calls and like 5-10 postcards a day. It’s annoying as the ever living fuck after about a week. In fact, it has made me quite miserable and it makes my blood pressure go up when the phone rings. It gets compounded by the fact that I really need to answer my phone for my job. I have stopped politely telling them to not call, and to add me to the do not call list, and have become really rude.
Like you, I have already voted by mail. You aren’t going to change anything by calling me at this point, nor would you have ever. I mean the choices in this election are a self-aggrandizing lunatic who wants to abolish the Constitution and normal politician. Do they think this is how you sway people? Via a harassment campaign? I just don’t understand…
