Cherry picking, I said it was an appeal to futility, as well as a false dichotomy. There’s plenty of other outcomes besides one of the two warmonger parties winning- like elections get cancelled due to Biden launching nukes on Jan 6 '25 to stop the steal. Just because one of the shitty parties is obviously going to win it’s still a worthwhile endeavor to oppose them, rather than just accepting whatever garbage they serve up.

Trying to run a third party is the only viable reformist track- the democratic party is totally unresponsive to reform attempts- recall how Obama personally intervened to stop that last time. He even dismantled his own electoral apparatuses after his first run.
The endpoint of the lesser evilism voting is that you’re browbeating people to not protest vote and instead vote for one of the two parties, both promising more genocide, one of which is directly implicated in an entire year of it so far.
To any outside observer ( the people you’re trying to sway) it still looks like you support them and everything they’ve done.

One of the frustrations was that they would be talking about how the economy was doing great… if you were a homeowner. The inflation was also in things like rent which they have no intent on really addressing, but disproportionately gets omitted from broader stats regarding inflation despite people getting $500+ rent increases shortly after the end of the COVID eviction protections.

The origins of “the far left” (as I understood it) was basically promoting heavy government involvement. For example, breaking up monopolies, many government subsidied programs for it’s people, which in turn needs higher taxes for it people (so the rich get taxed more, the poor get taxed less).
People on the far left were actually interested in expropriation of private property and a more egalitarian distribution of those resources and decisionmaking. They also wanted actual democracy (as in power to the people) rather than Democracy™ where it’s only for a handful of the population who aren’t getting actively disenfranchised.
If you nationalize industries you get to use the profits directly, rather than messing around with taxes after the fact.
Democrats deserve contempt for supporting a genocide trying to win at electoralism and still losing.

I hate to break it to you, but Democrats are also genocidal and through a combination of their policies and incompetence (charitable reading) created the situation which led to trump getting elected. Twice.
Here’s what actually works for getting a trolley to stop running over people:
“those leftist rubes not voting for my party, well jokes on them cause I just imagined the other guys doing worse”
I’m not looking forward to Trump, but this is the path the Democrats paved by their own actions. Blaming the voters is not a real strategy for anything other than nursing bruised ego.
