Trump’s legacy will be long term damage to national security, rampant racism and discrimination, and widespread corruption.

How many times in our history are Americans going to get duped into hating people they never even interact with and know nothing about?

None of these people know trans people. These morons have just been conditioned to hate them regardless of not even knowing them. It’s pathetic. They’ve never been hurt, or even inconvenienced by a trans person. Bigot fucks.

I mean outside of America we are still going to all let this happen. We are all marching straight into WW3 like the “this is fine” meme.

Should we survive as a species I look forward to 50 years from now where America adopts strong anti-facism laws like Germany has.

Question is, who is the good guy in this new world we are entering?

FWIW as a Canadian we are so fucked. America is going to come knocking for our resources soon and we won’t be able to say no.

Deep breaths and take things a day at a time. People have been through far worse even today. I was joking with my GF last night who is South African. This ain’t nothing compared to what she has been through as a Zulu woman.

I know it’s not the best answer for you, but it is what it is. You either endure or you don’t. Me? I choose to endure.

Oh yeah, I’m glad it’s there and able to do what it can with the resources it’s given.

I’m not a veteran but like many I have friends and family who served. It never ceases to amaze me how much support republicans in general and “suckers and losers, what was in it for them” Trump republicans in particular get from the armed forces.

It would upset me, but then I remember that’s how they treat all their followers and the armed forces are just another job for the working class to fill. They practice equal opportunity contempt.

That’s not actually true. It’s just very restricted, the contracts and laws around your service make it very hard. You can’t sue for things that are legal orders and you generally can’t sue specific people. You can absolutely sue the DoD for things like breach of contract. For example if you were processed out of active duty normally, on time and everything, and then were arrested for desertion a month later you would likely have a case against the DoD. It just has to be off the wall stuff like that.

This is the same shit we did with black people and then the gays until acceptance of those groups was so widespread that US fascists could no longer successfully target them.

If you learned history you would know this is just the next group right wing movements are scapegoating instead of offering any policy whatsoever that improves people’s lives.

Thanks for being the example of how ignorance fosters fascist beleifs, fear, and hatered, of people who are different than you.

Everyone saying “he can’t really do this” is still in living in hopeful dreams. Reality is that Trump will be in charge and surrounded by fanatical loyalists running all branches of government and the military. The dangers for his chosen scapegoats are real.

Okay so I don’t really expect resistance, but here’s the thing:

They don’t have to obey. Laws and traditions are not magic. We all know rationally what’s coming, even if we haven’t really grasped the magnitude of it emotionally.
