For good reason. It’s basically a speed run of enshittification from day-one.

Amazon has been trying to make sure it can be on all streaming devices as it provides the back end to a lot of other pay streaming channels. FreeVee was probably their Trojan horse to get people Amazon accounts and a service that low end streaming devices would need to serve.

That shit was even bad if you had it ad-free through Prime. Watched a show there and it would have a half second black screen at the place where an ad would be. Sometimes in the middle of dialogue.

Ah, the European method of placing ads in American shows anywhere, instead of using the spaces designed in the American shows.

Yeah, the trouble was that this show was explicitly produced for Amazon. Maybe the writing was already on the wall and that is why they didn’t put in any effort.

I got annoyed because it would crash and then when you would be placed at the start and have to fastforward but then when you got to certain points in the fast forward it would flip to commercials. to damn annoying.

So they renamed IMDB TV to FreeVee, then when they added commercials to Prime video they moved various content to FreeVee. Now they are getting rid of FreeVee and including it with Prime, but for free? I guess that’s better, but confusing.
