The electric vehicle industry is closely watching to see how Tesla boss Elon Musk, who played a key role in the victory of Republican President-elect Donald Trump, will use his influence with the incoming president to steer the industry’s future.

It doesn’t matter that he has several hundred billion more votes than anyone. Money is speech bro. Legalized bribery is democracy. Well it was. Now fascism and dictatorship are democracy. That’s called Freedom™️!

Money is power/influence, that has always been the case. Not sure why you felt the need to put that in quotes as if it wasn’t universally applicable.

The editor, Saibal Dasgupta, seems to be a journalist located in India.

Voice of America’s headquarter is in Washington though, so good question.

Of course, it could all be another elaborate pump-and-dump scheme by Elon. It wouldn’t put it past him.

Exactly. He already has his hand up the government’s ass and had been sucking off billions of dollars in subsidies and other benefits. This will only get worse, but apparently boosting musk is bipartisan, the two parties just differ in how much they want to give to him.

My guess the tariffs will be on “any non-tesla car produced outside the US”.

That means, for example, Volkswagen gets the tariff.
