Oh but I don’t need to think too much through it. It is pretty much the legal situation in Germany (and probably several other European countries). There may be some edge cases that I don’t know.

Just think a little bigger:

It must be a crime to have the harmful material.

Have it on your PC or phone —> goto jail.
Have it in your online account —> goto jail.
Be a service provider and have it on your server —> goto jail.

They have to file their claim before the end of the year. But then they can add the proof later.

They usually request data that can be obtained from their business data, bookkeeping etc. Doing such a survey work shouldn’t be neccessary for answering the EU’s questions.

You should understand that Chinese people or companies have no choice there. It is not exactly a free world. As soon as they are asked by their authorities, they can only say yes.

That “fleet” would need many significant differences, like when you recognize different people, then many features are different. If your grandma talks to you with a different tone, you would still recognize your grandma easily.

But I don’t believe in it. If I were the scammer, I would have maybe 2 or 3 of these lengthy talks with “her”, but afterwards I would recognize her and of course avoid her anytime.

No, I’m not saying anything about ‘should’.

These products are also used among their enterprise customers. So they cannot simply abandon them. But customers are not paying directly for these products (only for the server software). So they make them free. Maybe they hope to lower maintenance costs.

The higher plan must be to maintain good morale among the existing customers, and maybe slow down or even stop their exodus.
