(I love how people down vote the removed comment.

Way to teach me a lesson! )

    Jesus fuck.

Can’t make an absolutely factual and direct comparison between Columbus and netanyahoo without some fucking idiot removing my comment.

Both were Jewish. Both were Spanish. Both set on foreign soil -killing the native people in an expansionist scheme of looting land. Both were racist. Both committed genocide.

    These are 100% true.

Columbus is an asshole. Bibi is an asshole.

Fucking read instead of getting pissed off at me because you are offended.

Also, again, fuck whoever removed my comment.

As a native of Central America, way to minimize the genocide of my people while obsessing on trends.

European colonizers killed 56 million of my people 56 fucking million. My tribe was being genocided in the 1940s as well, and later in the 80s by Americans. Americans who now moralize and take the high ground, while ignoring their own atrocities

        I’m not american.

Genocide is fucking horrific. Whether Armenians, native American (north and south), the holocaust etc.

        I’m not minimising.

If a current genocide isn’t important, because they haven’t killed enough people yet…

If you think it’s a fucking ‘trend’ (seriously, wtf) I feel bad for you.

I don’t ignore the horrors my country has done.

I am loud and I am an ally to the first nations.

I call out the ongoing genocide here as well.

I call out our police and politicians and institutions.

If comparing two evils is a no-no, well I guess I’ll just stop saying anything about anything because one might be more evil and that’s bad.

I’m sorry for the pains of your past. Help stop the pains of others futures.

Am I to be expected to shoulder personal blame for that genocide too? Because the one in Gaza is already apparently my fault because of my ancestry.

The vast majority of zionists in usa are christian.

If someone supports zionism, then yes the genocide is partially their fault.

Otherwise, stop complaining and join the resistance.

Not that it’s any of your fucking business, but I’m part of Jewish Voices for Peace.

Also not that it’s any of your business, but I can’t go out and protest because I’m suffering from a long-term illness which gives me low energy, so I have to keep my activism confined to writing and phone calling.

And thanks for proving my point. I have to justify myself to people like you because you automatically just assume someone who is Jewish is a Zionist unless they specifically tell you otherwise.

Not that it’s any of your fucking business,

You’re the one who brought it up.

I’m part of Jewish Voices for Peace.

Cool. I appreciate knowing that. I try to spend minimal time online. Thanks for being a decent person.

I can’t go out and protest because I’m suffering from a long-term illness

Sorry about that. I didn’t literally mean protest but more resistance. I changed the wording.

I have to justify myself to people like you because you automatically just assume someone who is Jewish is a Zionist unless they specifically tell you otherwise.

You asked if you’re to “shoulder blame” for the genocide so I asked about your position on zionism. This is a completely reasonable response.

My conclusion is that you’re not to blame for this genocide. Doing much better than most people.

I brought it up specifically to show that people like you assume Jews support Israel unless they prove otherwise. And you showed that I was right.

I bet you’d never assume a Muslim supports terrorism unless they prove otherwise.

Thanks for being a decent person.

I wish I could say the same for you.

If someone asks me if they should be responsible for genocide, and I respond by asking if they support genocide… Am I somehow bad?

You didn’t even mention being jewish but it’s mostly irrelevant. The vast majority of zionists in usa are christian.

I said nothing about “they.” This is what I said:

Am I to be expected to shoulder personal blame for that genocide too? Because the one in Gaza is already apparently my fault because of my ancestry.

And the second sentence makes it very clear that I’m Jewish.

You either didn’t actually bother reading what I wrote or you’re being very dishonest right now.

I brought up “they” because it doesn’t matter if it’s you or somebody else. It doesn’t matter if you’re jewish zionist or christian zionist or atheist zionist or whatever.

If someone asks if they’re responsible for genocide, it’s completely reasonable to ask if they support genocide. Thank you again for saying no.

I bet you’d never assume a Muslim supports terrorism unless they prove otherwise.

I would advise you cease with the islamophobia though. It doesn’t help anybody to promote the narrative of jews vs muslims. Nor the narrative of muslims as terrorists. If you’re actually concerned about these things (doubtful), I recommend ceasing with the racist BS. It’s a symptom of your extreme privilege.

Down votes don’t hurt my feelings.

Your necessity to do it on a removed comment speaks more about you than me.

I’m Jewish and I don’t think I’m a bigot and I am not pleased by this only in the sense of, as I already suggested, people deciding I need to shoulder that blame directly as a Jew along with Gaza and the execution of Jesus.

I don’t think his ancestry really matters. I think his actions do.

But it’s interesting on an academic level.

Famous Jewish assholes: Judy Blume, Elie Wiesel, Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Mel Brooks, Noam Chomsky, Bernie Sanders and, of course, the queen asshole herself, Anne Frank.

My comment: sarcastically claiming a list of really cool people who were Jewish and definitely not assholes were actually assholes.

You: “Bernie Sanders is an asshole? Never seen him portrayed as such.”

Ah, so that’s the part we were at.

                  Cool.

Headline: “Christopher Columbus was Spanish and Jewish, documentary reveals”

You: “Is that supposed to explain why he was known to be an asshole?”

So if you didn’t mean being a Jew explained why he was an asshole, did you mean that being Spanish explained why he was an asshole? Because I can list plenty of non-asshole people from Spain too.

FYI the official internet vernacular to denote sarcasm or satire for a comment is to end the comment with backslash and the letter “S” like this: “/s”

If you can’t recognize that someone calling Anne Frank and Albert Einstein assholes is being sarcastic, I think you have bigger language issues.
