  • What an absolute piece of shit.

Like every word she speaks is TERF propaganda, which she recognizes: She Twitted “Full TERF”.

She says “He is a biological man. End of. Period.”

She makes a point that she is not willing to discuss or find common ground by any criteria (not even the safety and dignity of trans women themselves).

This is a savage and barbaric, blatant display of bigotry and hatred, a disgusting outlook for any human, and totally unworthy of respect in decent society.

Thoughts out to Sarah Mac Bride that has to face this and still keeps her cool.

To me banning transgender use of public spaces and bathrooms should be listed as a hate crime and be heavily fined.

I hope her motion is rejected, she should be ashamed of her ridiculous self.

  • This is not a matter of opinion, rather than centralized control of information.

Musk can shadow ban you, for example, nobody granted him that power except he was able to by it.

This type of social media are a power structure that is despotic in nature, and it is deeply problematic for democracies.

It is not like a nation state banning a religious minority or an anarchist site. That would be censoring of opinions.

In the case of Xitter, it is Musk and a team of political advertising engineers doing the censorship. So they are worse than Nazi apologists for example. The latter we only anticipate they will impose censorhip (let alone murder) once they are in power.

Xitter has that power already at orders of magnitude above what traditional media outlets have. He controls the flow of information. (And he made it a fucking nazi bar right enough).

But I will grant you that we should not expect nation states to ban Xitter. We should aim for its destruction.

  • Yes, you missed how social media algorithms work, having captivated the attention of whole nations, and carefully control every bit of information that pass in front of your eyes, then some billionaire buying said mechanism and taking part in the government he helped elected, then threatening the nations that have banned him that they will lose the next elections. Did I miss anything?

Real democracies need to shield themselves from this kind of corporate interference, yet most people don’t even understand how it works, or why Cambridge Analytica was a big hit, or where are these experts now and how they are making a living.

  • I am not subscribing to this bullshit, and I am sad my comment enabled you to spew it out. “Me too” was a valid and necessary movement to combat sexual assaults that were institutionalized in many industries and protected by law enforcement and judicial authorities. Many prominent figures went rightfully to jail for sex crimes, and the proportion of women lying about it is rather small to make a political argument off it. Tracing back “liberal-themed supremacy movements” to Jewish supremacism sounds to me quite close to Nazi conspiracy theory, to take any of this seriously. I am sorry this reached my feed, and I can’t wait to engage the likes of you in combat.

  • And they also say nothing about

    circumcision

    intersex infant normalization surgeries

ongoing breast enhancement surgeries for cis girls

Republicans did not ban those, nor they did minor marriages, but I will keep to the surgery related arguments.

At the same time, puberty blockers for cis kids with precocious puberty goes on as before. They only designate the transgender use as “off-license” with unknown long term side-effects.

How the fuck gender identity is supposed to interact with the exact same drug? This is pure hokum.

But you know the problem is that only you and me will read that. Vast majority of people are spoonfed transphobic propaganda from TERFs and Xitter. It is sickening how hard it is to get those simple talk points across nowadays.

  • a “put your money where your mouth is” fallacy

Is this a “fallacy” or is it an “angle”? Probably it is little more than straw-man attack, because you know even homeless people need actual homes not just places to crash, and it is also a form of ad hominem attack that typically targets progressive/social change demands (do you really hear that often the opposite, like “if you hate homeless people that much, why don’t you support gassing them?”). I don’t know if people call those fallacies these days, I tend to see them as tactical conversational attacks. A fallacy is sth you can easily fool yourself with.
