I honestly enjoyed this movie. It was like Hideo Kojima made a feature length film. The references to classics like Metropolis were satisfying and the actors all chewing the scenery was fun.

Also loved Coppola creating his own letterboxd account to rate the film 5 stars!

I’m not convinced by your approach but I respect that you’ve put a lot of thought into it. I guess my main issue is that it seems some parents don’t think about it at all.

People need to understand that the internet is a public space. Family PCs should be in a shared space like the living room and kids need to have parental controls enabled on their smart phone. Beyond that, yeah people need to get thicker skins when it comes to social media (including steam in this).

I believe the Switch version does not require an online account either.

I also quite enjoyed Warrior Within but then again I liked Jak 2 as well. I wonder what happened in that “Shadow the Hedgehog” era to make all these good mascots go bad…

They get all the patches and minor upgrades in a timely fashion, similar to other distros. The major version updates do not come as readily though.

Have got Debian on an old thinkpad too because it is too under resourced to compile everything. I think Debian is amazing for a solid, reliable distro if you have weak hardware.

I use Gentoo and I love it. The installation process is a bit more complex than Arch but it doesn’t have to be if you choose the precompiled kernel.

The package management is extremely flexible and the community are great. I have a morning routine where I log onto my gentoo desktop before work and update everything; would compare it to raking one of those miniature buddhist sand gardens. Very theraputic!

Kamala ran as the establishment manifested in human form, clumsily avoiding questions or policy details in media appearances. She was polling at 4% of popularity amongst democrat voters during the 2020 primaries. I think those factors were more influential than her being a woman,

I think Pete Butigeg would have been a stronger candidate.

Ironically if she’d chosen Shapiro as a running mate then she’d have had a better chance of holding PA. However reports at the time suggested she didn’t want to risk upsetting the left by choosing a Jewish running mate.

Yeah the Manjaro devs have a long history of gaffes not to mention the infamous one with PGP keys requiring users to reset their system clock

Persona 3 OST for me

A lot of what makes Hereditary so good is the references to earlier films like Rosemary’s Baby. Horror is a genre that is in a constant dialogue with itself, and often horror films either subvert or adhere to what has come before.

Still Wakes The Deep was a fun Lovecraftian horror from this year. Unique setting on a North Sea oil rig with an authentic Scottish cast. Also didn’t overstay its welcome at roughly 4 hours length; I believe it’s on GamePass.

He’s a weirdo on mastodon too tbh. Very keen on blocking, no real interactions aside from self promotion.
