I don’t know your situation, and I don’t have a crystal ball, but I think Trump’s rhetoric is going to rub up against the will of the bourgeoisie which relies on exploiting immigrant labor. Republicans talk a big game about immigrants and then exploit the precarity & fear that it generates. Not to imply that the fear isn’t justified, because it’s not all talk.

That does help. After all it was black Americans who invented wokeness, before white liberal Americans co-opted it and perverted its meaning. The marginalized have always experienced the fascism that’s been baked into the American project since the beginning.

No, this is just another copium. Not to imply that racism/misogyny don’t exist, because they absolutely do. But that’s not why Harris lost both the electoral and popular votes by such wide margins. The DNC has endless amounts of quality data on how racist and misogynistic Americans are. If they knew that a nonwhite woman would lose then they wouldn’t have run one in the first place.

They hate anyone left of center. Fascism isn’t on the rise in the US in particular and the West in general for no reason. The cause is ever-worsening neoliberalism, which is monopoly capitalism in decay. I wrote about this two months ago, but I’ll spare everyone the copypasta and just link to it.

I think those are old-timey terms that have been retired from academic and popular language. And anyway, Asia Minor means/meant Anatolia—basically modern-day Turkey.

If there are two Spanishish audio tracks, I think that pretty much always means that one is “Latin American” and the other is “Peninsular.” I haven’t investigated this myself, but I hear that the “Latin American” track is predominantly a white collar Central Mexican accent. The standard Peninsular accent for media is a Madrid accent.

These kinds of popsci graphs are quite misleading. Unlike with the “Spanish”* bubble, the “Chinese” and “Arabic” bubbles contain many mutually unintelligible languages. Though to be fair, many (most?) of the people in the “Arabic” bubble can speak/read Modern Standard Arabic as a lingua franca, and virtually everyone in China can read Standard Chinese.

*Also, Dude, Spanish is not the preferred nomenclature. Castilian, please.
