If the president ceased aid to Israel on those grounds, congress would have to be unusually united to override it. I think if finding someone who can fill Trump’s shoes was easy they’d have done it for this election. DeSantis had a lot of the GOP establishment behind him and he fell embarrassingly flat. Maybe they’ll find someone, but it’s easier said than done.
