They hired native singers for the soundtrack. They also had most of the original voice actors in for an official Hawaiian language dub, which they distributed to schools in Hawaii (but did not release for home use). The Hawaiian dub came out in 2018, two years after the original release. Still, remarkable for an almost extinct language.
As it only requires saliva, any father can test their child’s DNA. Babies drool a lot. It may cost a few hundred dollars to do so. I suppose that makes it even less trusting to do it in secret than just having it as standard medical procedure.
The only thing I can imagine working is for a birth certificate when listing father, would have a selection of “presumed” or “verified”, where verified would have a doctor sign off. It should be optional. But it would be nice if a paternity test was presented as an option automatically, without needing suspicion or accusation.

Even with my experience as a presumed father, and as a falsely-surnamed child, I disagree.
Help poor people get mortgages by falsifying documents, costing the FHA less than $500k in insurance from those unable to pay. All in all 1% is not a bad rate of default. So yeah fraud is a crime but who is the victim? Bankers weren’t harmed. Homeowners weren’t harmed. FHA wasn’t harmed. Who is the victim?
Recreational DNA testing eventually led to discovering that I had never before met my biological father. Mom got it wrong. I met him and his family this summer finally. I am slightly irritated that my last name (and my child’s) is now kind of meaningless, and it’s too much of a hassle to change it.
We have lawmakers for a reason. A multimillionaire, owner of Blue Apron, crafts his own bill and we should pass it? Our lawmakers should work on a real solution. Sometimes short cutting the debate and compromise process isn’t a good way to make laws. California will increase minimum wage again, worry not. Maybe they’ll have to think about it every other year. Maybe that’s a good thing for them to spend time on, until people can actually afford to life here.
If it’s a band-aid fix, raise it by $2 to kick the can a couple years. But if you tie it to inflation you’re signaling that you’ve solved the problem of minimum wage.
I worked for minimum wage at $7.25, at a time when I didn’t have to pay my own living expenses. Anyway adjusted for inflation/CPI that would be $13. It wasn’t anywhere close to enough then, and it’s not enough now. I don’t have the math in front of me but if you factor rent into it, minimum wage should probably be around $25/hr for a true livable wage. As it stands now minimum wage is a poverty wage suitable for secondary income only.
CPI is basically half of inflation and less than half of most people’s cost of living. Do you spend more on food or rent? Does the cost of food determine where you live and how far you commute?
By passing this “once and for all” bill, legislators won’t spend additional time on this for like 10 years at least. I’d rather have them keep working on it every year until they figure it out.
I voted against it because it tied minimum wage to the consumer price index, but not to the cost of living. CPI measures the inflation of goods and services only, not the cost of housing. Housing costs have outpaced inflation. We need to set a minimum living wage based on rent and food. If corporations and foreign investors are allowed to own housing, this problem won’t get better. We don’t need a law that is instantly outdated, and keeps people in poverty.
Or it never existed at all and a company wanted to write off a few million to avoid taxes.
When corporations steal from their employees by wage theft, they are penalized “double damages” or twice what they stole. Seems that would be reasonable to apply to this.
They should just look at how many times the pirates listened to each song, and base the fine on the prevailing streaming rate to artists. Then the damages will calculate to like $5. Or if you really want to make them hurt look at how long they had the files and charge them the streaming subscription rate for like 3 years, then they may owe hundreds of dollars.

Portal 2 is only two player, but it’s my favorite game and it has a co-op mode with puzzles that require both people.
Python is hacky, because it hacks. There’s a bunch of ways you can do anything. You can run it on numerous platforms, or even on web assembly. It’s not maintained centrally. Each “app” you find is just somebodies hack project they’re sharing with you for fun.
Not only that but it signaled the beginning of the end for fair elections. I resent Gore for conceding the election. Should have battled it right up until Inauguration Day and the first order of business should have been to abolish the electoral college.
