While I agree with you that some people are too thin skinned to handle some conversation online… Steam forums or YouTube comment sections are really the very worst of the worst.
If all you read is trash tier content on a platform even if you understand it, it still sucks and remain quite infuriating.
Basically, steam forums are mostly trolling so at this point it’s not about the sensitivity of people but rather that these platform are particularly bad.
And then you get idiots that will tell someone that is not American : “uh why do you care so much about our election, it’s not your country”

Imo it’s just that SkillUp is a good reviewer and many others are not.
When BF2042 was released many big papers said it was super good when it was utter garbage.
Either go the metacritic way and average things out or stick to a few reviewers you know share your taste.
My strategy with paywalls is to close the tab and go somewhere else. It works fine and is a great way to let the website owner this bullshit make them lose viewers and visibility.

If you can sync Passwords you are also more exposed than some unhandy secure local password storage.

I highly recommend trying out the various online regex editor.
These WISIWIG kind of editors are great because you immediately see what the regex is catching and for what reason.
I took the first one in my search results but try different ones.
Also I used GPT to get some regex for some specific strings and it can be helpful to get a quickstart at building a specific regex.
In that case I was building a regex for a specific log from postfix.
PS: just make sure to select the correct flavor of regex you are using in these online tools.
