Anything you can find on Temu you could get from Ali, and usually even a bit cheaper, Temu just adds a predatory interface and false marketing on top of it, and people who have no experience with what Chinese manufacturing actually costs think it’s miraculous.
It isn’t, I’ve been buying this same stuff for almost two decades from sites like DealExpess, BangGood, Gearbest and then just straight from AliExpress. Temu is just the first to properly break through with the advertising. Because it’s mostly just bullshit.
In 2023, there were over 1000 different recalls in the US which affected 34 million vehicles (bottom of the page). But just like there are around 170 000 cars that catch on fire in the US per year, which is 465 per day, they just don’t make the news because nobody cares if it’s not a new and sCaRy electric car - even though they catch fire almost a hundred times less often. Though hybrids are twice as likely than gas cars - mixing gas and batteries doesn’t seem to be a good idea.
If you want to know what cars do have recalls though, Car and Driver has collected the most relevant ones. For example, how Dodge has to recall 34000 of the 2025 RAM trucks because they have a faulty ESC.
Other picks:
BMW is recalling 720,796 vehicles due to an issue involving a faulty seal on the water pump, which may cause a fire. The recall spans 12 models from the 2012 to 2018 model years, including the Z4 convertible; the 2-,3-,4-, and 5-series; and the X1, X3, X4, and X5 SUVs.
Ford and Lincoln are recalling nearly 91,000 models with the 2.7- and 3.0-liter EcoBoost engines that may fail. The recall affects 2021 to 2022 models with those engines, including the Ford F-150, Bronco, Explorer, and Edge; the Lincoln Aviator and Nautilus are affected too.
Porsche is recalling 27,527 Taycan electric sedans with concerns that a short circuit in the battery system may lead to a fire. At the same time, Audi is recalling 6499 e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT models with the same issue.
Honda issued a recall that covers 720,810 vehicles due to a potential issue with the fuel pump. The recall affects 2023–2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid, the 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid, and the 2023–2025 CR-V Hybrid.
General Motors is recalling nearly 450,000 trucks and SUVs with a potentially faulty brake fluid warning light. The recall covers some 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks and 2023 and 2024 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV models.
Most of these you never even know about even if you own that car, because they are “soft” recalls - they get automatically fixed the next time you bring your car to service. But if you don’t own one of them, then there is almost no way you will ever hear about them. Unless it’s about a Tesla.
~44% of women voted for Trump. Around 55% of men. So women hate themselves almost as much apparently.
Ah, now when South Korea attacks the peaceful North, they can rest easy as the military might of Russia, the world’s strongest and most advanced military, swiftly rushes to the aid of the poor and ill-equipped North with countless troops, modern weapons, equipment and endless supply of ammo, and saves the day!
…what do you mean Russia is currently using North Korean equipment and troops as reinforcements after running low of their own…?
PLA is considered non-toxic by itself already.
And while the biodegradability/compostability is indeed rather circumstantial, the much more important part is that it’s a renewable, plant based plastic. Currently the most useful way to get rid of it is to incinerate it for energy, which ends up being rather carbon neutral as it just releases the carbon the plant material used for growing itself.
Exactly. You’d need 28.9km/s of Delta V to get something from the earth to the sun, because your starting velocity is the 107000km/h of the earth and you have to slow down that much.
Instead it takes only 2.9km/s to send Musk to mars and make him fullfil his promise of humans on mars by 2024 (well, he won’t arrive this year as the trip takes 8 months, but we could forgive him that)
You are correct in the proper extension support part. Until recently FF Android only supported a handful of selected addons made specifically for it.
uBlock Origin however has been one of those for almost a decade now.
I’m sorry you have been suffering ads all this time.
What type of a spool holder you have in the dryer? It might be a good idea to get some bearings in there to help the spool spin as freely as possible.
FSR1 is pretty bad as it’s just upscaling the static image, I agree.
FSR2/3, XeSS and DLSS are temporal, meaning they use info from the previous frames to construct a higher resolution image that gives much better results. They also need to be implemented in the game engine, meaning not every game supports them.
"Fuck the white supremacist reddit anti-tankie admins", I’ll start my own reddit with blackjack and hookers at lemmy.marxist-leninist to host /r/communism - the creator of Lemmy and admin of lemmy.ml.
That actually has a function. First is as a life sentence usually isn’t actually until you die, but you sit x years (usually 20-30) and then can apply for parole and might get it. Multiple sentences can be set to run one after the other, increasing that time - though usually in that case you just get “life without parole”.
Another is if you have committed multiple crimes. Even if later they overturn one of them because of new evidence etc, you still have the others left keeping you in prison, instead of having to bring it back to court to figure out if that part was or wasn’t enough to give you a life sentence instead of a shorter one.
FSR2/XeSS upscaling pretty much acts as free anti aliasing, making it look better. And you get better UI rendering.
Specifically, the cybertruck.
Instead they made it so shoddy that it breaks if you take it to a car wash.
Though they can induce another type of driver fatigue - it makes driving boring as heck as you don’t need to do anything. I can’t use line keep myself as it just makes me really tired and I’ll risk falling asleep.
Temu is a handy way of getting cheap AliExpress tat with combined shipping. Otherwise you can end up with 10 tiny packages you have to go get from the post office spread across two weeks.
I agree with all the EU claims though, the site is designed to mislead and hook people who can’t filter out all the predatory tactics it utilizes. There are no “deals” or scarcity, nor really any quality control.
Or just in the browser.
Whatever app they are using is not following the same markdown as Lemmy, which supports only one level: 10^33^
= 1033.
That’s what happens to all alternatives at the start, only really the content that isn’t suitable for the main platform migrates there. It requires a mass exodus because of something major, like what happened with reddit 3rd party apps or twitter/X & the block change , to get enough regular users there.
Lemmy literally exists because Dessalines, a “long time Marxist-leninist” decided that “Fuck the while supremacist Reddit admins” and made an alternative to host r/communism because reddit is run by an “anti-tankie scum”.
The datasets will have enough images of kids in bikinis and underwear from stock photos and clothes shop listings etc to figure that part out rather easily.
Well, no faults that would be dangerous.
Olkiluoto 3 specifically though is basically a glorified prototype and has had many issues with the massive turbines. Last time they said they’ve installed the last spare and had no timeline when the next would arrive, as it’s a unique part for this reactor only with leadtimes in months. If it breaks again, who knows when it will be able to start back up.
