  • Not quite. Although the “losing bid” here was of a higher payment amount. However, the trustee chose the onion bid because the families who are owed assets out of the settlement were willing to forgo some of the payments they are owed to back the onion bid. That would lead to more being paid back to Jone’s creditors than with the straight cash bid.

So it is a bit of a unique situation and the court is right to verify that the trustee made the right call. Ultimately the onion bid should be the winner since bankruptcy proceedings should prioritize paying creditors.

  • It’s easier to layer tops than bottoms. So shorts with short sleeves covered with a button up long sleeve can be surprisingly practical even though it feels silly. Open the button up when it starts to get a bit warm, and remove it entirely when active in the sun. Large diurnal temperature swings can mean committing some fashion faux pas.

  • They still think that YouTube and Facebook are representative of the average person. They don’t understand how incredible curated those feeds are. I think that’s where some of the “silent majority” mythos comes from. Everything they see is people agreeing with them, therefore it’s impossible that Joe Biden got more votes in 2020.

  • There’s no risk for a factory condition unit. This rumor started after people with units that had been dissasembled and reassembled had issues with vertical orientation. It turned out that it’s very easy to mess up the seals that keep the liquid metal thermal interface in place. So units that had been previously taken apart had liquid metal slowly leak, causing overheating and/or shorting.

If you haven’t taken the cooler off the mainboard, using the vertical stand is just fine. I haven’t seen any evidence of factory assembled units suffering leaking. It does imply that user servicing of ps5’s is a bit risky, and you might need to be wary of used units where you don’t necessarily know the service history.

To avoid unnecessary confusion, taking the covers off to add an m.2 ssd does not add any risk.
