It was in my news feed 2 days ago and as is the nature of the modern Internet, today I cannot find the article using Google.
Don Jr did cocaine in public at the recent Space X launch and not a peep out of the mainstream media, much less police.
If a policeman saw a black man outside a night club do what Don Jr did, he would have been arrested on the spot and immediately thrown in jail.
I read an article that MS has backed off almost entirely on Win 11’s requirements. Now it’s a checkbox, “Your hardware isn’t supported so you accept responsibility if you have problems.”
As long as it’s newer than Pentium 4, you are probably fine.
Win 11 now only needs popcnt (a newer instruction added 15 years ago) and sse4.2.
If you don’t know, you either haven’t run Win 11 or don’t realize the files on your desktop have been uploaded to OneDrive.
If you’re a capitalism supporter, this is likely good news.
It’s not good news for intelligent capitalists either. The current systems are in place because real capitalists, starting with Adam Smith in 1776, know that regulations are critical for the success of capitalism.
People who champion deregulation are always looking to destroy the free market for their personal profit.
The only bad thing Bill Gates ever did was say that poorer countries needed to pay for Covid vaccines. That was horrible and he backed off.
Almost all his other shenanigans was being a Billionaire stealing from other Billionaires.
People forgot that IBM was a monopoly worse than Microsoft. People forgot that Netscape was a billionaire backed corporation. MS stomped on some little guys too like Stacker. But it was someone who made $100M on a good idea and thought they could milk one idea forever.
To put Bill Gates in the same category as Musk is like saying Biden is the same as Trump.
I think it’s designed that way because Sales VP’s get bonuses based on new sales, not retention.
So there is an unspoken market force that causes service companies to churn customers. Senior executives want you to leave because the competition is doing the same thing.
All competing companies sales teams benefit from churn as long as all companies work to alienate their customers and make them switch services.
When I ran an isp I had a customer complaint about new sales being cheaper than loyal customers get forwarded to me. I realized my mistake and cut prices across the board so loyal customers paid the same as new promotions. But very large companies are an old boys club. The CEO isn’t going to piss off his VP of sales so the game goes on.

That’s why I think the creator might be hoping to get paid for his work if he can get the publisher to re release it.
He can’t release it without being sued. But if it was leaked, he wouldn’t be responsible. They can only sue the torrents’ hosts and downloaders.
Whatever happened to that guy that completely remade H&R in a modern engine but couldn’t release it because of copyrights.
Did it ever get leaked onto torrents?
They changed the tax credit so Tesla is included again.
Across the road from my street is a Nursery/Lawn care place staffed completely with latin American immigrants. The owner plastered his business with Trump signs. The owner is a retired cop. One of his signs even said “Trump, I’m voting for the felon.”
I know it’s really wrong for the immigrants, but I want to report him the second Trump’s militarized deportation starts.
I know there is a tradition of not imposing laws that target a specific company but is it an actual law with consequences?
Because it would be great if the tax credit law was written with the explicit exclusion of Tesla.
If Musk wants to use the federal government to target his business competitors, then the State government can do the same.
It’s so interesting how they will dig through a stolen laptop and make a huge deal of it every single day for 2 years.
Trump Jr does cocaine in public on camera and it’s perfectly normal.
I think that’s a major difference in left vs right media. The Right understands marketing. You need to repeat a message over and over before it gets into the public consciousness. Democrats never stick to one subject. They’re always onto the new shiny criticism. For example, labeling Trump as “weird” was just gaining traction when they moved onto the new idea.
who intended to actually live in the place rather than just chart it.
Exactly. They didn’t discover it. They settled it after discovery.
single player
That’s a critical qualifier because of course if it’s an online game, it requires you to be online.
So saying EverQuest checked to see if you were online when you went online to play doesn’t make a point.
I can find an old RTS from a failed digital distribution platform a few years earlier that also seems to qualify
If you can find it, then name it?
Combine that with how lucrative MMOs
Of course if you are playing an online game it knows that you are online!
Sure we would have ended up with Steam, but maybe not as quickly. The massive success of Steam is what caused all other large shops to copy Steam. Which is how we ended up with so many different launchers
I referenced Online DRM. Can you name a single player game from before 2004 that required online DRM to play? (Not register. You needed to verify online almost every time before playing.si gle player HL2. )
Can you name a big single player game from before 2004 that required online DRM?
Because you originally couldn’t play single player HL2 without internet. They slowly backed off the DRM but it wasn’t like you needed to register once and could play forever. You needed Internet to play single player.
Ubisoft? They didn’t start their online DRM UB Play until 2009. That’s 5 years after Steam.
Neither did Maxis. I never played Sims or SimCity 3000 but Google says as late as 2013, Sims 4 didn’t have online DRM for single player mode.
Nvidia says the $2000 5090 comes out in January. They haven’t even hinted at an announcement for the 5060 so it will be a very long time before it comes out.
