Iranian authorities arrested a female student on Saturday after she staged a solo protest against harassment by stripping to her underwear outside her university, reports said.

The woman, who has not been identified, had been harassed inside Tehran’s prestigious Islamic Azad University by members of the Basij paramilitary force who ripped her headscarf and clothes, according to reports by several news outlets and social media channels outside Iran.

She then took off her clothes in protest and sat outside the university dressed in just her underwear before defiantly walking in the street to the astonishment of passers-by, videos posted on social media showed.

      stripping to her underwear

It varies of course, but most public nudity laws I’ve seen pretty much only specify that genitals and female breasts (and sometimes not even breasts) need to be covered.

There’s a picture in the article, she’s wearing some fairly conservative undies, I’ve seen people wear more revealing clothes just out shopping at Walmart or going for a jog, and she’s certainly showing less skin than you’d see at most beaches or swimming pools.

At worst you might get questioned by the cops about why you’re out walking around in your underwear, but unless you seem like you’re in the middle of a mental health crisis, or refusing to leave a business or otherwise causing a disturbance, it’s kind of a stretch to say you’d be arrested, at least in most halfway modern countries if the cops are enforcing the laws properly (which is of course not a given)

Ahh because iran is a modern country. But also i lived in multiple countries where you would get arrested for that so its funny that i get downvoted for saying something that is actually true and does not really contain my opions. Or is my support for her that is getting downvoted?
