In case it wasn’t already obvious, there clearly isn’t a single Arabic speaker on AOC’s team.
This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen any political campaign ever do. I’m definitely voting for Trump now. He would never do that.
He knows how to appeal to both English speakers and
citizens of the Empire of RomeSpanish speakers!Whataboutism
You’re right. It’s just whataboutism. The fact of the matter is that AOC and all of the Democrats hate Arabs. Unlike Republicans, who love them and all other minorities.
MAGA 2024!
You know that switching the topic to Trump whenever anyone critiques a democrat only proves that you know how weak they are? If her campaign cannot survive even light criticism then it deserves to fail.
Yes. AOC is definitely very weak. There’s no chance she will be re-elected in a district where she got… *checks* 70.6% of the vote last time. This is totally going to sink her.
As opposed to Arabic speakers in the other party?
Is the other party boasting on Twitter about their Arabic-language outreach?
No, they’re too busy telling Netanyahu to “finish the job” and getting rich off of Saudi money.
Or just borrowing a billions from the Saudis to own Twitter itself.
But you’re right. They’re not boasting about their Arabic-language outreach, so you’ve convinced me. MAGA 2024 all the way, baby!
They can always ask their pal MBS to proofread.
Which is one more Arabic speaking pal than AOC has, apparently.
Sorry… are you actually saying friendship with the bloodthirsty Saudi royals is preferable in a politician to one who didn’t use someone to proofread the Arabic on a flyer?
How is that related?
Full of mistakes is an understatement…That’s not even Arabic.
This is what you get if you put the phrase “Vote by Tuesday, November 5th”
التصويت بحلول يوم الثلاثاء 5 نوفمبر
Whoever did this should be fired lol.
I don’t understand. She’s in New York City. She could probably bump into an Arabic speaker if she just stood on the sidewalk for five minutes.

That’s a pretty loose definition of the Arabic language if I’m being honest. Even a 6 year old just learning to write Arabic would know better.
Either her campaign got screwed over by some Arabic speaking Republican or someone who wanted to discredit her because of the whole Gaza issue.

I think it’s more likely that the text was translated correctly by a professional, but then the graphic design was done by a volunteer who doesn’t have any experience with Arabic text, and nobody on AOC’s team noticed because none of them know anything about Arabic, none of them know any Arabic speakers, and they don’t respect the Arab community enough to consult with them.
Edit: In fact, not just Arabic speakers. A Muslim of any background, or anyone familiar with the look of Arabic calligraphy would have been able to notice the letters weren’t ligated properly.
I guess I’m not surprised that the party that is bombing Palestine doesn’t have a single Muslim on staff, even in New York City. I’d be shocked if they did.
and they don’t respect the Arabic community enough to consult with them.
Or maybe they didn’t have the time because you need to get things to a printer on a deadline and there’s an election in less than a week.
You’re acting like this is some sort of bigotry when AOC is so obviously not a bigot and has shown every sign of genuinely caring about her district.
No, this was deliberate. You can’t even screw up this hard even if you were to use google translate or any other online translator. Anyone with even a grade 1 level of education on the Arabic language would know better.
No, this was deliberate.
That’s a bold claim. Prove it. I want to see hard evidence that AOC’s campaign would deliberately antagonize her Arabic-speaking voters.
If you took the 2 seconds to read my comment above the one you quoted you would have noticed that I said her campaign got screwed over by someone, not that she did it intentionally. Maybe read the context before you accuse someone of something? It’s the second time this week alone that you’ve done it to me.
I said her campaign got screwed over by someone, not that she did it intentionally
Sorry, my mistake.
That’s a bold claim. Prove it. I want to see hard evidence that her campaign was intentionally screwed over by someone.
The Newsweek article I linked doesn’t say anything about it being translated incorrectly. It says the letters are in the wrong direction.
It’s not just the wrong order (which is also a very big fuck-up in itself). In Arabic letters in the same word connect with each other (with a few exceptions). It’s kind of like cursive writing. Look at my first comment to see what I mean. There’s no way anyone translating this made these kinds of mistakes by accident. Even if it were some English speaking intern who used Google Translate it would have been done better (as shown in my first comment).
In Arabic letters in the same word connect with each other
Yes, that is also in the article. You should read the link before commenting.
The letters not connecting is an issue with the graphic design, not the translation.
Libs here really do get pissed whenever you say anything bad about Kamala, shocking news libs a critique of Kamala isnt a support for Trump.
Their excuse is always “Trump is worse”, which is not an excuse.
AOC’s campaign team not having a single Muslim on it in New York City really undermines their claims of being the party of diversity.
