Mariel Garza, the editorials editor of the Los Angeles Times, resigned on Wednesday after the newspaper’s owner blocked the editorial board’s plans to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
On the one hand, I’m glad this editor has ethics.
On the other hand, I’m upset because I’m pretty sure the next editor is going to be a pro-whatever-the-owner-says sockpuppet
Patrick Soon-Shiong is the owner and obvious weirdo.
I don’t get it. He was okay with endorsing Biden back in 2020 after taking ownership in 2018. So why skip the endorsement now?
Good for her, I hope others follow her example.
How can a company endorse a politician? I can understand that she has a voice, but doesn’t speak for everyone at the company.
