Summary
Thousands protested in Tbilisi after Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party suspended EU accession talks and budgetary grants until 2028, citing disputes with Brussels over elections and governance.
PM Irakli Kobakhidze accused the EU of “blackmail” and attempting to “organize a revolution.”
Outgoing pro-EU President Salome Zourabichvili condemned the move as a “declaration of war” on the people.
Public opinion strongly favors EU membership, but the government’s conflicts with Brussels over election integrity, NGO laws, and social issues persist while it cautiously approaches Russia.
Aux armes citoyens !
Go Georgia don’t give up!
Fucking asshole PM. Hey nobody remembers when we got the shit kicked out of us and our territory stolen by Russia recently, cool, fuck this EU shit let’s cuddle up to Russia.
They need a revolution. Not like I don’t need one too, but they might have a better time of it.
Georgia is in a perilous state. It’s either to become a puppet state or it gets the Russians again.
A puppet state of who?
russians of course! Haven’t you heard that not giving your country to russia is nazi-imperialism?
Anecdotal evidence, but I trained with some soldiers from the army of Georgia and they HATED Russia. This was around 2014, so not sure how much might have changed since then.
