  • For anyone thinking, “dems always vote early. This means nothing”, consider :

This is the first presidential election since roe VS Wade fell.

This is the first presidential election since Jan 6.

There are a shit load of registered republicans and former republicans (hi that’s me) that hate trump and can’t wait to vote against him. Just look at Haley’s primary votes. People talk about how the dems have lost young men but the Republicans, I would argue, have lost twice as many or more numbers of millenials and boomers from Trump’s antics. It will just depend what state those balances work out in.

  • I’m in central Florida. In 2016 and 2020 there were plenty of trump signs and shit all over. Today, Except for one billboard on i-275 complaining about grocery prices, there’s really nothing. Enthusiasm for Trump, even among his diehards, has seriously waned.

I understand it too. I felt the same way about Biden before he dropped out. Yeah, I was still gonna vote for him but… I certainly wasn’t gonna be over the moon to do so. Compared to kamala who I’m actually happy to vote for. The Republicans schlonged themselves I think.

  • Ignore the polls. Look at the trump signs around you. At least where I’m at in Florida, they’re probably at tenth of what they were in 2020. I was a republican in 2020 that voted for Biden and renounced my affiliation after the senate acquitted in the second impeachment. The only demographic that Trump is seeing increased support from is young men, a famously allergic to going to the polls group.

We should fight like hell to make it a landslide but the polls published right now are only there to drive engagement. Democrats have outperformed the polls by 5-10pts in every election since 2020.
