61·5 days agoSuper Mario Kart just doesn’t control well. F-ZERO is a well-designed racing game, even today. It’s the only retro racer I’ve ever played with gameplay that feels natural. The series only got better over time, on top of that.
Not to mention how well the game runs, and how it doesn’t display at a squished aspect ratio.
EDIT: And F-ZERO has goated music.

1·13 days agoWell, funny thing–I was once late for a job because my alarm didn’t go off. Guess why? Yep, auto reboot. There was even a notification saying the alarm didn’t go off. Very odd behaviour, but that’s what happened.
The only solution would be to simply turn the setting off at night, or have developers add an automatic scheduling option. Of course, you can just set the timer to be longer than your sleep schedule as well, but then you miss out on security.
Yes. Alternatively, you can just… power it off.
CalyxOS and GrapheneOS have this as a feature.

61·18 days agoIt’s not minimal at all. Forbidden West load times on PS5 are radically shorter than PS4. Final Fantasy XVI’s transition from world map to area is a second-long black screen. It’s a world of difference from last generation. Nearly two minutes, to a quarter of that, is not mininal. Loading time improvements quickly add up.
PS5 versions of PS4 games consistently look and perform far better. Again, the jump between Forbidden West on PS4 and PS5 is night and day. I’ve seen both versions, and I’ve seen plenty of footage. They’re easily distingushable. The PS5 is literally the PS4 Pro’s graphics at a locked 60FPS.
Yes, the PS5 is disappointing–but stop fucking lying.

251·24 days agoIf developers actually supported macOS, it would be a way better form factor over PCs. PCs consume ludicrous amounts of power, while my M1 Max MacBook Pro could run Baldur’s Gate 3 at max graphics with no performance issues. On battery. Over extended periods. Make ARM better already.
Macs can game–people just don’t want them to.
That’s horrible. I want you on my design team.
At the very least, the keyboard functions for power.
There is plenty of room on the front for a power button. Should have removed the headphone jack.

VI could be split into a P1/P2 for its two main parts. I’d like to see a greatly expanded second half, as I felt that was one of the weaker parts of the game.
