Google may be working on bringing Quick Share to iOS and macOS, enabling file sharing between Android phones, iPhones, and MacBooks.
It’s not even on linux yet
If you’re on kde you have kde connect (or gsconnect for gnome or zorin connect for zoran os) which is a lot more versatile than this. I know it’s not the same but it’s excellent.
As usual, we are treated like third class citizens, but the community always comes to help: https://github.com/Martichou/rquickshare
Well if you go by the numbers, we are lol
No, we’re a minority. Not third class. Hell, Android itself runs the Linux kernel. Should be a few slaps of paint to get it working. (I know it’s much more complicated than that.)
Doesn’t even work on windows. (So I went for LocalSend)
It works alright for me on Windows. I have since also switched to local send because it’s just so good. But quick share is also fairly decent last I checked.
Needs Intel WiFi / Bluetooth chipset. So it doesn’t work on my AMD PC. And it doesn’t find my phone on my surface pro 7.
Alright. I didn’t know you needed an intel wireless chipset. Not sure why it matters if you use an AMD CPU though. Does AMD even make wireless chipsets?
My PC have an Intel wireless chipset and an AMD CPU.
If it’s a laptop the wireless chipset would be part of the SOC, so I would assume that AMD does some variant of a chipset for that.
No, the wireless chipset is most frequently on a card or sometimes soldered somewhere else on the board.
Oh interesting. My mistake!
